Two Hawks Make History at the Mike Clock Open

The UCC Women's Wrestling team sees success at the Mike Clock Open. The team makes great strides as 2 of the women win individual titles for the first time in program history at the Mike Clock Open on Sunday, November 10th.

At the 101 weight class, Esthela Trevino won by decision over Kayla Rogers (Big Bend Community College) by an 8-0 decision in the first round. In the second round, Trevino faced Karly Scott (Southern Oregon University) and won again by decision 6-0. In the third round of the day, Trevino faced Ceci Saavadra (Gray Harbor College) and took first by 4-2 decision.

At the 143 weight class, 2 Hawks placed top 3: Sarah Conner and Grace Miller. Conner was the other RiverHawk to secure an individual title. Conner faced unattached Stephanie Mould and won by fall at 1:47. Conner advanced and went up against unattached Raquel Amezquita and won by decision 8-1. In her third round, Conner defeated Krista Warren (SWOCC), to move to the championship match against unattached Jade Trolland. In the Championship round, Conner won by decision 9-3. Miller, who had a bye in the first round advanced to take on Jade Trolland in the second round, but took the loss. However, Miller went on to win her next 3 matches and took 3rd by fall at 0:48.

At the 123 weight class, Mariah Annis took 4th. In the first round Annis had a bye, which led her to the second round to face Krystal Fabricante (Eastern Oregon University) and she won by TF 12-2. In her third round, Annis lost to Victoria Seal (Simon Fraser University) by TF 10-0. Annis took 4th overall, after a tough loss to Tara Othman (SOU) with a fall at 3:36.
