RiverHawks Sign Hawaiian State Placer

Cassandra Tongi, a 2017 graduate from Kahuku High School in Kahuku, Hawaii, has signed a letter of intent to wrestle for the RiverHawks of Umpqua Community College during the 2018-19 season. Tongi finished 1st in the Eastern Championships, 1st in the Oahu Interscholastic Association and 4th at the Hawaiii State Championships, as a senior.

Tongi is also accomplished in the sport of judo, winning the Eastern Championship as a senior, placing 2nd in the OIA's and 4th at the State Championship. She has also been a member of the cheer squad and has boxed.

Head Women's Wrestling Coach Asia DeWeese has this to say about the signing of Tongi,"Cassandra is an experienced wrestler, as well as a very good athlete. We are very excited to add her to our wrestling room. She gives us depth and toughness, as well as adds to what looks to be an outstanding incoming class."

Tongi is the 4th wrestler to officially sign with the RiverHawks for the 2018-19 season.
