RiverHawks Add Desert Valley League Champions

Head Women's Wrestling Coach Asia DeWeese is excited to announce the signing of Alejandra Galindo and Britney Garnica of Cathedral City High School, in Cathedral City, California. Galindo and Garnica are part of a team that won its first ever regular season league dual meet championship and was crowned Desert Valley League Tournament Team Champion for the 2018.

Galindo is slated to slide into the 124 lb. slot for the RiverHawks next season. She has a career record of 59-19 (going into 2018 post-season) and recorded the fastest pin of her career in 13 seconds.

Garnica is set to wrestle at 109 lbs. for the RiverHawks in the fall of 2018. She has a career record of 76-17 (going into the 2018 post-season) and recorded the fastest pin of her career in 9 seconds.

Coach DeWeese had this to say about the signing of the two Cathedral City Lions, "We are fired up to add two champions to our wrestling room. They are coming from a very good program and will contribute right away. We expect them to bring work ethic and a championship mentality every time they step on to the mat as RiverHawks."
