Third Desert Valley Champion to Join RiverHawks

Head Women's Wrestling Coach Asia DeWeese is excited to announce the signing of a third member of the Desert Valley Champion, Cathedral City Lions, Angela Inprom. Inprom was named KMIR Athlete of the Week, last week, as she takes a 29-4 record into the next round of championship wrestling. Not only does she have 29 wins, but all have come by fall, shattering the pin record for her high school.

Inprom played volleyball and swam for the Lions and holds a 4.4 G.P.A. She will be joining high school teammates Britney Garnica and Alejandra Galindo as RiverHawk freshman in the fall.

Coach DeWeese had this to say about the signing of the Inprom, "Angela is going to be a great addition to our wrestling room. She is a very fast learner and a tireless worker. Since she is new to the sport, but very successful already, we are excited to see where her potential will take her."

On the benefit of having three teammates come to Umpqua at the same time, DeWeese said this," It is always great when athletes have a familiar face to confide in and work out with as the season progresses. College athletics is a grind and it becomes a passion when you can experience it with people you know and have won with."

Inprom becomes the 7th athlete signed so far by the RiverHawk Women's wrestling team for the upcoming season.
