Makayla Murphy from North Douglas High School in Drain, Oregon signs with the UCC Track & Field team to throw javelin. Murphy is a local stand-out, multi-sport athlete that has previously competed at Sutherlin HS. During her junior year, Murphy placed 2nd in javelin at the 3A State Championships, and she took 1st at Districts in both javelin and the 4x400m relay. She helped contribute to a 3rd place team finish at 3A State Championships in 2022, and 1st place team finish at 3A State Championships in 2021.
We are excited to add to the depth of our women's team and javelin crew with the addition of Makayla. Her dedication to the sport has shown over the past few years, so it will be great to see her develop as an athlete working under our javelin coach, Jim Feeney.
