RiverHawks Split the Weekend at Oregon and Linfield

RiverHawks Split the Weekend at Oregon and Linfield

The RiverHawk Track & Field teams competed on Friday, May 5th at the University of Oregon and Saturday, May 6th at Linfield University. Colby Neron and Whitney Lindsey competed at Oregon with the rest of the team following up at Linfield the next day.

At the Oregon Twilight, Colby Neron had a tight competition in javelin until his final throw of 64.57m/211-10ft to secure his second ever win at Hayward Field against big competition! Whitney Lindsey also competed in javelin, as she took 7th overall with some tough competition. She threw 43.73m/143-6ft, and improvement from her 41m throw and 8th place finish at Hayward Field earlier this year.

At the Linfield Open, Alex Duguid-Green had a huge series in shot put (his first time in the event this season after an injury earlier on), with a 3rd place finish and new PR of 13.65m/44-9.5ft. Alex also threw 47.39m/155-6ft in hammer for a PR and 4th place finish. Isaac Heard also had a 3rd place finish in a tough competition battling the wind, with a throw of 49.32M/161-10ft. Kylie Anderson threw 11.70m/38-4.75ft in shot put for a 5th place finish. Eve Elmore took 8th in hammer with a throw of 41.74m/136-11ft. Taylor Heie had a huge PR jump in pole vault by clearing 3.30m/10-10ft, and narrowly missed at the next height which would've broken the school record.

Very proud of our crew of athletes! Between Alex and Isaac being the only 2 guys in scoring position during the meet, they were still able to finish 14th overall out of 28 men's teams.

This weekend concluded the regular season for the RiverHawks and they will next compete at the South Region Championships hosted by SWOCC in Coos Bay.

Go Hawks!
