Hawks Soar at OSU High Performance Meet

Hawks Soar at OSU High Performance Meet

A handful of athletes competed at the OSU High Performance Meet hosted by Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR on April 28th and 29th, 2 of the hottest days in Oregon so far this year. The rest of the team spent the weekend relaxing and preparing for the upcoming Linfield Open, which will be the last regular season meet for the Hawks.

The Hawks performed quite well with the high level of competition. From the start Colby Neron popped into first on his first throw and he secured the win on his final throw with 64.05m/210-2ft. Teammate Isaac Heard also made the finals and took 9th (out of 22 competitors) with a throw of 53.79m/176-6ft. Whitney Lindsey had a big throw of 45.32m/148-8 which placed her 3rd overall in javelin. Rachel Noyce cleared 1.55m/5-1ft in high jump, which still leads the NWAC in the event. Kristen Thomas ran a personal best and NWAC qualifying time of 2:30.32 in the 800m.

Whitney Lindsey was recognized for her performance as she received NWAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row!

Three Hawks will compete this upcoming Monday and Tuesday, May 1st and 2nd, at Lane CC for the NWAC Multi-Event Championships, and the rest of the team will compete at the last regular season meet hosted by Linfield University on May 6th.

Go Hawks!!
