RiverHawk Track & Field Competes at Rich Allen Classic and Oregon Preview

On Saturday, March 18th the RiverHawks crew split the weekend at the Oregon Preview (University of Oregon) and Rich Allen Classic (George Fox University). Three Hawks competed at the Oregon Preview while the rest of the team competed at the Rich Allen Classic. Several Hawks had great performances, and 2 Hawks secured wins (1 at each meet). The skies were clear and the sun as out!

At the Oregon Preview Colby Neron won the men's javelin with a throw of 66.42m/217'11", he also had 3 throws over his personal best with his final throwig being the best. In the women's javelin, Whitney Lindsey took 8th place with a throw of 41.80m/137'2". In the women's high jump, Rachel Noyce narrowly missed placing and took 9th overall with a jump of 1.55m/5'1".

At the Rich Allen Classic several Hawks placed on the women's side. Brook Stookey, made her debut and won the discus with a personal best throw of 36.76m/120'7" and placed 6th in the shot put with a toss of 10.14m/33'3.25". Kylie Anderson and Hailey Combie also placed in the shot put, as Kylie took 2nd throwing 11.42m/37'5.75" and Hailey took 3rd with 10.52m/34'6.25". Hailey also took 8th in the discus with a throw of 31.74m/104'2". Eve Elmore, broke her own school record and took 3rd in the hammer throw with 42.40m/139'1". Gabrielle Hrdlicka raced in both hurdles and took 4th in the 400mH with a time of 1:10.73 (personal best) and 5th in the 100mH with a time of 16.46 (school record). Kylie Rubrecht took 5th (34.75m/114') in javelin followed by Madelyn Sharp who took 8th (31.32m/102'9"). Jolyn vogel-Hunt took 7th in pole vault, with a jump of 2.75m/9'0.25". Bailey Wallack ran in the 400m and took 8th overal with a time of 1:03.80. Kristen Thomas led her teammates in the 800m and took 8th place with a time of 2:39.55. Aubry Brownson also threw 2 personal bests on the day in the hammer and discus throws, both throws were just short of placing.

The men's crew also did quite well at the Rich Allen Classic. Isaac Heard had 2 personal best throws on the day in both the javelin and discus. Isaac took 3rd in javelin by throwing 55.49m/182'1" and 4th in discus with a throw of 35.63m/116'11". Aiden Norris also placed in 2 events, 4th in the 110mH (16.31) and 5th in triple jump (12.28m/40'3.5"). Daniel Gee was the lone placer for the Hawks in pole vault, as he jumped a personal best and took 6th overall by clearing 4.15m/13'7.25". Oluwatomiwa Olubisi (Tommie) took 8th in the 200m with a time of 23.58, which was also a personal best.

 

The RiverHawks will take next weekend off, and compete again at the Pacific Multis on March 30th-31st (Thursday-Friday) andthe Pacific Open on April 1st (Saturday).
