RiverHawk Men Rally to Win

The RiverHawk men of Umpqua Community College used a late flurry to seize the game and leave the court with a 91-86 victory over the visiting Panthers of Portland Community College. The lead changed on eight different occasions but two free-throws by Timmy Thompson with just a few ticks left on the clock sealed the victory for Umpqua.

The RiverHawks were led on the night by freshman Grant Ellison with 28 points. He was joined in double figures by Timmy Thompson with 22, Jouvon Edison with 15, Darrin Gethers with 12 and Ethan Betts with 10 points. The RiverHawks out-shot the Panthers 41.5% to 36.4% on the night.

With the win, Umpqua remains in first place in the Southern Region with a 7-2 record. They are 15-5 on the season.
