Umpqua Men Fall in Final 4

A tough Final 4 battle ended with the Umpqua Community College men's basketball team coming out on the short end of a 79-74 loss to the Tacoma Titans. Things looked good for the RiverHawks for most of the game, as they led 40-36 at half-time. Most of the second half was back and forth with the RiverHawks taking an eight point lead early in the second half.

In a tough, physical contest, Umpqua had a difficult time keep keeping the Titans off of the free-throw line in the second half, as they shot 24 free-throws, compared to just 11 for the RiverHawks. Umpqua had chances late, just trailing 73-72, and having a chance to tie from the free-throw line, but would come up short.

The RiverHawks were led in scoring by Grant Ellison with 18 points and Ethan Betts with 15 points. Jouvon Edison was the only other player in double figure scoring for Umpqua with 11 points.

The RiverHawks ended the season as the South Region Co-Champions and a 20-10 overall record.
