RiverHawk Men’s Basketball Signs Nevada Guard

The Umpqua Community College Men’s Basketball program is proud to announce the signing of Reno, Nevada, senior Drew Rippingham. Rippingham is a 6’3” senior guard from Reno High School, in Reno, Nevada, where he was named as a High Desert League First-Team selection. He also received Honorable Mention All-State from the Las-Vegas Review Journal.

The multi-talented guard averaged nearly 14 points per game while grabbing 3 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists. He finished the season shooting over 37% from the 3-pt line. His team finished 22-7 on the year.

UCC Men’s Basketball Coach Daniel Leeworthy had this to say about the addition of Rippingham,” Drew is a tremendous shooter. He has a quick release and moves well without the basketball. It's no wonder he led his team to great success this season and was highly ranked on all the scouting services. He will help us win many games this season and will be a great asset to the campus and community."

Umpqua’s Department of Athletics is composed of nine varsity sports teams including three men's teams (basketball, cross country, and wrestling), and four women's teams (basketball, cross country, and volleyball). Umpqua is a member of the Northwest Athletic Conference in all sports except men’s and women’s wrestling and obstacle course racing. For men’s wrestling they belong to the National Junior College Athletic Association and for women’s wrestling, the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association.
