The RiverHawk men travelled to Chemeketa Community College for an NWAC Southern Region match-up and came home victorious, by a score of 122-116. The RiverHawks came out on fire in the first half, shooting 56% from the floor to lead 59-44, going into the locker room. The second half featured an up and down game, as the RiverHawks score 63 points, while giving up 72 to the Storm but Umpqua held on for the win.

                Umpqua was led by freshman Grant Ellison with 31 points and 5 assists, followed by Ethan Betts with 21 points. Darrin Gethers (20), Timmy Thompson (17), Jacob Danhoff (15) and Daniel Reno (10) all scored in double figures against the Storm.

                With the victory, the RiverHawks stand atop the Southern Region with a 5-1 record and a 13-4 record on the season. The RiverHawks are back in action on Feb. 1st, as they travel to Southwestern Oregon. Tip-off is at 7:30 pm.
