Cabrera-Gay's series (68.85m, 69.76, 69.48m, 73.58m, and 71.36m) of throws were very impressive as he easily out-threw the nearest competitor on every throw. The 73.58m throw was a lifetime best by 9 1/2 feet. He led two other teammates to personal best as well: Ismayil Abdoulaye (64.55m) and Ethan Sumpter (57.29m). The RiverHawk javelin crew are now ranked 1, 2, 3, and 5 in the NWAC, led by Cabrera-Gay.

Leikel ranks 1st in the NWAC, 1st amongst all junior college athletes across the nation, and 1st amongst Cuban athletes.
