Troy Hockett Signs With RiverHawk Track & Field and Wrestling

Troy Hockett from David Douglas High School in Oregon has signed to the RiverHawk Track & Field and Wrestling programs. Troy is an outstanding athlete, with a dynamic background in track & field, wrestling, and soccer.

At the 2024 OSAA 6A State Championships, Troy won the pole vault with a dominant personal best jump of 15'0ft. He will make a great addition to our strong pole vault crew that finished 1st, 5th, and 7th at the NWAC Championships this year. We are very excited to add Troy to our Track and Field team as he is a talented athlete with a great personality and does his part in the classroom.

On the mats, Troy is a 2x District Runner-Up and a 2x State-Qualifier. He is a recipient of the Grinder Award. Troy has a personal connection to Coach Anthony Weerheim (wrestling) as his dad coached a local Mat Club with Coach Weerheim. Coach Weerheim has mentioned there aren't enough words to describe how great of an indivudal Troy is. He will make a big impact on the athletic department and community as a whole.

Troy was named 2024 Athlete of the Year and earned the Superior Athletes Award for his performances his senior year. Not only was he pole vault state champion and state qualifier in wrestling (finishing 7th), he also ranked top 5 amongst goalkeepers in 6A. Such an awesome honor and well-deserved. We are all looking forward to having him at UCC and calling him a RiverHawk!
